new floral collection watercolor flowers wall art - flavia bernardes art

Love everything flowers related? If so, you’re in for a treat. The new floral collection is here and it’s pretty magical - I know I’m a little biased, but come on: Don’t you kind of want to live in one of them?

The theme behind the new floral collection was nature and surrendering. Watercolors are fluid and have a mind of their own: the more you try to control them, the more they rebel.

Creating these new watercolor flower paintings was a lesson in trusting and surrendering. It was about letting go of expectations and dancing with uncertainty, instead of trying to control everything. Being here now and enjoying the journey.

Painting flowers is something I avoided fro a long time. Flowers represent femininity, softness, vulnerability, all things I struggled with for the longest time. I think I’m finally ok being in my own skin, finally ok being who I am. I think what I struggled with the most was the notion that being vulnerable and being feminine would somehow make me weak. It took me a long time, but I finally understand that it’s the other way around. The things I struggled the most to conceal are actually the things that make me who I am. And I’m learning to take ownership of my story and gathering up the courage to embrace every little bit of who I am.
