Daily Paintings
You know when you tell someone you’re going to do something and the shear fear of embarrassment of not doing it is enough to make you actually do it?
Yeah, that’s what happens to me… a lot.
So I learned to tell people. Even before ideas are fully formed, even before I have gathered enough confidence in myself, I tell people. Before my inner critic kicks in, before I have time to question if I bit more than I can chew. I tell people.
Sometimes it’s scary, sometimes it freaks me out, but it always pushes me forward and makes me take risks I wouldn’t normally take. And that’s just enough to keep me going.
So I opened my big mouth again and told everyone I knew about my daily paintings project. Didn’t you hear? I’ll be making a watercolor portrait painting for every single day of September and posting them here and on my instagram account.
It’s my way of celebrating the last days of Summer: by painting people out in the sun, by capturing light and color.
Move out of your comfort zone and do something that scares you, everyday. |
And I guess now that I just told you… I have to do it.
